Yes, what breasts! ...But also what lips, what eyes, hair, legs, feet!! How does he do it????!
What gets me is 'the look'. Somehow James Lemay always manages to draw facial expressions that just ooze sultry, dripping, sexuality. To borrow a line from one of the Naked Gun films: 'The kind of woman who makes you want to drop to your knees weeping and thank God you're a man!'
Thank you for continuing to share these incredible works of art with us.
Jesús: I'm very happy about the way her breasts turned out too. Once in a while, you get little magic moments at the drafting table where something turns out exactly like you want it to, or even better than you pictured it in your head.
This drawing had a few of those moments.
Tom: How do I do it? -- I dunno, but I can tell you that drawing every single day sure helps make it slightly easier. :)
Like I've mentioned before, sensuality is the most important aspect for me when drawing the female form. Glad to know I succeed at drawing sultry women from time to time.
I love your art, your girls are simply amazing. The expression in their eyes is hipnotic like they know they're super hot and yet...there is a hint of vulnerability and childish charm! I guess what I like most is that they are full of curves, when I first saw one of your girls it brought a smile to my face. Thank your for that!! xoxoxoxo, Elisa
Knowing that my artwork brings a smile to someone's face makes me feel very good inside.
I sometimes wonder if people will think that the women I draw are too curvy, especially since most women in comics (and other media) these days are portrayed in a very skinny fashion. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who still admires lots of curves on the ladies. It's reassuring.
You are so right! I sometimes look at magazines and wonder why the perception of beauty is so...unhealthy. That's why your art is so refresing I look at your babe in the tub and think: Wow! her breasts are gorgeous, her skin is amazing, her arms don't resemble a pencil...yei, good for me!! My husband loves curves, for him, the center of the universe, as he puts it, is a good pair of full juicy breasts! Jajaja! (I believe he is not alone on this one)
Your women are flawless!! A perfect reflection of God's work!!
I feel the same way, most notably when it comes to models and actresses. I used to love the way Jennifer Connelly looked when she was younger, for example, but in recent years, she went all skinny and shit. She's still attractive and an amazing actress, but to me, she looked so much better when she had a bit more skin on her bones.
Hopefully, sultry & voluptuous actresses like Scarlett Johansson will never bow to the dumb-ass pressures of being super thin in Hollywood like so many others do.
And I have no doubt lots of people would agree with your husband's philosophy regarding breasts! :)
