Wow! I'm a big X-Men fan and that commission looks awesome! I especially like the piercings on Emma. Mastermind in the background is also a nice touch. I assume that this image is a twist on the Dark Phoenix Saga?
This is one of the most intricate commission pieces I've done so far, but I enjoyed every pencil stroke. It's a really cool concept and the customer is thrilled so far. I'm really looking forward to coloring it.
I can't say that I'm a big X-Men fan, but I really enjoyed John Byrne's run on the book back in the day, so this piece was particularly fun to draw.
Hey James, Got that pic finished. The one of the crucifix pose. But she ain't crucified in the least. She was inspired by Karl, you remember...and was put back on the worktable when I saw yours. A rushed job to get it called finished.
I certainly don't want to indulge this #1 fan...pun intended or not...James you may not want to post this comment It's going to be a bit harsh...
The one thing that I can't stand is a cyber bully who has nothing better to do than be a stuck up conceited moron. And I will tell it to you to your face #1...I'll promise you this, I personally don't know James...But the one thing I do know is his art and his creativity thereof. His style is magic and sensual. He creates from his thoughts and reflects his own taste to a rather (questionable...in this world) erotic genre. I find meaning in his works and see his endeavor in his creations. Just look at one of his covers and an entire story is unfolded in just one image. As to his "blow-up doll look of shiny skin, thick joints, snub nose and sausage lips"...they are very cute, desirable and a relief from the traditional forms of classic line arts. James has a style all to his own and I personally enjoy his works...and I know that I am not alone...A friend of mine was blown away with his creative artistic beauties...quote "Damn, He's good."
I see you are one of those (brave to give stupid criticisms...or lack of it to be sure) because you hide behind a keyboard. Funny how the real AMERICAN can become stupid and vulgar when he's on a CB driving a truck because it's his voice and not his face being heard and not seen. That same American truck driver who is all cheerful and polite in the dinner truckstop buying his fellow trucker a coffee...will be the very one cussing and slandering words of unfortunate wisdom on a public radio. No #1 your critiques and questions of such are not worthy of reply. You are not genuine in your quest for truth...you spit out slander to try an infusion. I am not afraid, stupid, or a victim to be walked over by a bully. And I CERTAINLY will not stand by while a fellow artist and a friend is criticized in a non-helpful and meaningless way. James, I know you don't need anyone to stand up for you. Believe me that's not what I'm doing here. I just can't stand by and see it happen. I won't and never have. I place my mark here and take a stand...you comment either like or dislike of his works. And I do the same. But disrespect for a fellow human being is not welcome. You are definitely #1 in my book. Which finger do you suppose represents you?
I take these kinds of posts with a grain of salt, so it's not that big of a deal, but it's nice to know someone's got my back. I owe you one.
I could have rejected the comments from the onset, but opted to give the poster a chance to elaborate and maybe give some constructive criticism. Not surprisingly, that didn't happen.
Oh, well.

Such combination of anger, inspiration and admiration, Midnight121 you are my hero!!
The first time I saw one of Mr. LeMay babes I was so happy to see a real woman, it made feel good about myself because I'm not skinny and never will be, I'm proud of my thick joints :)
I think this person is just so jealous of Mr. LeMay's talent that all he can do is say those bitter, untrue, offensive words. (His dialogues are not cheesy, that made me soo mad!)
Poor guy, no matter what he thinks or says, the fact of the matter is that James LeMay is an amazing artist loved and admired by many.
Xoxoxoxo
P.S. For the record, I wish I had those lips (my nose is pretty decent :P) and I put all sorts of creams every single day to make my skin 'shiny' ;)

Blair,
ReplyDeleteYou're correct in your assumption.

ReplyDeleteMy #1 fan! ;)
ReplyDeleteNo one at HBC or SBC dictates how I should draw or write, so I'll take full responsibility for your dislike of my artwork and storytelling style.

ReplyDeleteI dunno, but my "lack of style" sure keeps you coming back for more.
ReplyDeleteYou know, it's very easy to post judgmental comments under the guise of anonymity. Why don't you show us what you do that's so great and stylish?

ReplyDeleteRight.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I've indulged you long enough, you can go troll somewhere else now.

ReplyDeleteI really appreciate yours and Midnight 121's posts, and your comment about the creams made me laugh out loud... yet, it's so true.
I don't want to dwell on this anymore than I already have, but you guys rock!
Thanks for the support.
